AS WITHIN, SO WITHOUT

Imbolc and the Feast of Lights is celebrated on February 2. It marks the beginnings of Spring and warmer days ahead. Though the land is frozen, new life is beginning to stir. Daffodils and crocuses appear like jewels from Mother Earth. The first lambs of the spring are born. The groundhog emerges to see its shadow.

The Celts honored the Goddess Brighid at this time. Her cleansing fire represented hearth and home, healing and fertility, creativity and wisdom.

Celebrate the changing seasons with simple gestures to renew and warm your soul.

  • Spring clean to banish the vestiges of winter.
  • Place a vase of white flowers in your home to symbolize purity.
  • Relax and cleanse your body in a tub of water scented with lavender - or use a scented scrub in the shower.
  • Meditate to clear your mind and release any thoughts that no longer serve you.
  • Sip hot cocoa to warm your body and create sweet thoughts.
  • On February 2, light a white candle. As you look into the flame, imagine abundant blessings of love, prosperity, and health shining upon you and everyone in your home.

May the love within you illuminate all that is without you.

In love and light,

Kate
